Efeomo is a seasoned transactional and business lawyer with over 18 years of extensive experience in corporate and commercial law practice. She has developed specialized expertise in compliance, corporate governance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, due diligence, strategic advisory, and stakeholder engagement. Efeomo provides legal and financial advisory insights, focusing on legal and financial structuring, conducting due diligence, and reviewing financial and legal documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws. She is adept at crafting effective legal strategies to resolve operational and legal challenges, driving business growth, and achieving corporate objectives.
In her role as a Chartered Secretary and Legal Adviser to an investment company, Efeomo served as the compliance officer, ensuring the company operated legally and ethically while meeting its business goals. She was instrumental in developing compliance programs, reviewing corporate policies, and advising management and the board on legal risks associated with various investment initiatives.
As a Partner at George Etomi and Partners, she was in charge of Clients’ investment portfolio projects; she led portfolio projects, strategic fundraising debt and equity financing, private placements, and other capital-raising ventures. Efeomo also delivered comprehensive legal opinions on compliance requirements, legal risks, and the implications of diverse financing options.
Efeomo currently serves as a member of the National Mirror/Technical Committee on Financial Services under the Standards Organization of Nigeria and Fintech CEO’s and Fintech Founders Forum Committee. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (Nigeria Branch). She was a Council Member of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law from 2020–2024 and previously chaired the Young Mediators Group of the International Bar Association Mediation Committee (2013–2015).
Efeomo holds an LLB from Ambrose Alli University and an Executive Education Certificate in Mergers and Acquisitions from Columbia Business School, New York. She is currently pursuing an MBA specializing in Strategy at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. A committed professional, she is affiliated with several notable organizations, including the International Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), the Professional Mediators and Negotiators in Nigeria, and the Institute of Credit Management.
Kemi Awobiyi has nearly two decades of experience in legal drafting and contract negotiation, specializing in Urban Rail, Construction, Finance, Commercial Law, Business Strategy, and Renewable Energy. Holding an MBA in Strategy and Finance, she manages complex PPP projects, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation contracts, leading contract reviews and negotiations while providing regulatory and compliance support.
Kemi currently handles significant Maintenance & Rehabilitation (M&R) Subcontracts in Urban Rail, acting as the primary contact for commercial, contractual, and claim aspects of major projects. She ensures compliance with contractual obligations and leads Project Core Teams. Her notable achievements include executing a $184 million Maintenance and Rehabilitation Subcontract and negotiating a $5 million CAD settlement claim for construction delays.
Kemi also drafts and negotiates renewable energy contracts, showcasing skills in risk assessment, EPC contractual knowledge, regulatory compliance, and technical understanding. She is experienced in risk allocation, insurance policy negotiation, budget management, regulatory updates, and communication leadership to ensure project success.
As Head of Legal Advisory and Research at Heritage Bank Plc from 2014 to 2017, Kemi provided legal opinions for credit transactions, EPC Contracts, corporate financing structures, agribusiness value chains, and renewable energy contracts. She managed risks across 150 branches, reviewed contracts, and advised various departments.
At Solola & Akpana Barristers & Solicitors, Kemi served as corporate counsel for a $170 million real estate development, implementing contract strategies, supervising tender procedures, and structuring major PPP and petroleum contracts. She negotiated drilling, construction, and procurement contracts while managing legal and regulatory compliance.
A graduate of University of Lagos and EDHEC Business School in France, and called to both the Nigerian and Canadian Bar, Kemi’s diverse expertise in legal practice, contract management, and strategic project execution highlights her commitment to excellence and ability to develop strategies for growth and profitability.
